That down looking bunny and those fences are good. Keep at it, there are already really good looking graphics there that show promise. If you can give more roundness to your dirt patches, it creates a more natural feel immediately. Round things up - This is more of a personal opinion, but I really don't like the square design of tilesets in RPG Maker. Using pixels or points as shading, like you've used, is an interesting choice too, but you can be more bold with it. With good shading you can make those side-view trees look like top-down trees - just to give more depth to your objects. Shading - While you could say there are graphical style with minimal shading, such as Earthbound and the likes of that - I'd still suggest at least adding one more shade of color to each of your surfaces. Trees, that hole on the ground and that left looking bunny are all from side-view perspective, while the bunny looking down, the fences and ground tiles are all top-down perspective. Perspective - your perspective is all over the place at the moment. I will post it if I get it working correctly.Well- I think with 3 major focuses you can get forward. Photofiltre is a more simple program for less complicated work and gimp is more advanced and complicated. Both are free and both have a layer option. Just go through some tutorials and use Photofiltre 7 and/or Gimp. Note: A5 and B tiles may place a large size, but right-clicking will only remove a single square.Īnd the part everyone loves, the download! I was going to use an installer, but that didn't quite work out yet. You don´t need to buy anything Program related. It is important to remember that changing between MV and Ace tileset tabs will clear all tilesets. There aren't many, but you can use them if you wish.įrom there, the program should be fairly intuitive to use - select the type of tileset you want to make, and left-click to place tiles, right click to remove them. Due to differences in tileset sizes and styles, there are the following restrictions in creating tilesets: XP tiles can only be used when creating VX and VX Ace. There are graphics provided in these folders as an example of what the system expects when these graphics are loaded in. Each type of tileset has a subfolder in these, and graphics files of single tile blocks go in each. Inside there is an AceRTP and MVRTP folder. The Custom MV and Custom VX Ace settings load off of custom tiles folders, found in the directory with the Tileset Builder application. The tileset builder is usable without configuring any of these folders, but you will be limited to the Custom MV and Custom VX Ace folders. When selecting a folder, you need to select the base folder for that maker, and not any folders inside it. The Folder Manager is used to set up the RPG Maker folders. Black background when removing tiles from a tileset loaded in that was saved without transparency. There are commands you can enact through Autorun evnts at the very moment the game begins to disable menu access, and you can instead create your own interactive inventory screens (even animated ones, using Move Image commands.
